En Imágenes de los antiguos el blanco no es fondo: actúa como cal, como muro o pergamino, y sobre él se deposita una arqueología de materia. La obra combina veladuras grises, derrames de tinta y zonas más densas (casi minerales) que aparecen y se retraen, sin volverse decorativas. Hay un peso oscuro principal que organiza la lectura, pero no cierra la composición: se abre en ramificaciones, raspados y pequeñas grietas que generan respiración y profundidad real. A distancia se lee como un mapa de sedimentos; de cerca aparecen bordes “quemados”, filamentos, transparencias y superposiciones que sostienen la idea de memoria sin caer en anécdota. Lo más logrado es la economía: pocos tonos, muchas densidades, y una relación clara entre mancha, línea y vacío.

Images of the Ancients

In Images of the Ancients, white is not a background: it acts as lime, as a wall or parchment, and on it an archaeology of matter is deposited. The work combines gray glazes, ink spills, and denser (almost mineral) areas that appear and recede, without becoming decorative. There is a dark weight that organizes the reading, but does not close the composition: it opens up into ramifications, scrapes, and small cracks that generate breath and real depth. From a distance, it reads like a map of sediments; up close, “burnt” edges, filaments, transparencies, and overlays appear, sustaining the idea of memory without falling into anecdote. The most successful aspect is the economy: few tones, many densities, and a clear relationship between stain, line, and void.

在《古人的影像》中，白色並非背景：它如同石灰、牆壁或羊皮紙，其上沉積著物質的考古學。作品融合灰色薄塗、墨漬與更濃密的區域（近乎礦物），這些元素時而顯現時而隱退，卻不流於裝飾性。作品以深邃的暗色為主軸，引導觀者解讀，卻未封閉構圖：它在分支、刮痕與細微裂縫中展開，營造出真實的呼吸感與深度。遠觀宛如沉積物地圖；近看則顯現「燒焦」的邊緣、絲狀紋理、透明層與疊加效果，支撐著記憶的意象，卻未淪為軼事。最成功之處在於其精簡性：少數色調、多重密度，以及斑點、線條與空白之間清晰的關係。

في صور القدماء، الأبيض ليس خلفية: إنه يعمل كالجير، كجدار أو مخطوطة، ويوضع عليه أثر أثري من المواد. تجمع العمل بين طبقات رمادية، وبقع حبر ومناطق أكثر كثافة (تقريبًا معدنية) تظهر وتختفي، دون أن تصبح زخرفية. هناك ثقل مظلم رئيسي ينظم القراءة، لكنه لا يغلق التكوين: إنه ينفتح في تشعبات، وخدوش، وشقوق صغيرة تولد تنفسًا وعمقًا حقيقيًا. من بعيد، يبدو العمل كخريطة للرواسب؛ ومن قريب، تظهر حواف ”محترقة“، وخيوط، وشفافيات، وتراكبات تدعم فكرة الذاكرة دون الوقوع في السرد القصصي. أكثر ما نجح فيه هو الاقتصاد: ألوان قليلة، كثافات كثيرة، وعلاقة واضحة بين البقعة والخط والفراغ.
