Iskra Abstract was created with a clear focus: to give visibility to senior painters and creators who have worked for decades without entering the circuit of galleries, fairs, or networks. Not because of a lack of work, but because of a life choice, circumstances, or simply because their work has been developed in silence, without any urgency to exhibit.

That accumulated time matters. A long career—when it is consistent—leaves something that cannot be improvised: craft, technique, editorial judgment, and a relationship with materials that can only be achieved through years of real practice. In many of these works, one can perceive a trained hand, sustained decisions, and a personal language that does not depend on fashions or trends.

As gallery owners, we are interested in opening a space that is different from the one that dominates today: there are many platforms focused on young talent, and it is good that they exist. But there are almost no places that seriously work on the public appearance of anonymous veteran authors, with a consolidated body of work and a voice of their own yet to be discovered. Iskra Abstract functions as that bridge: organizing, presenting, and contextualizing that work so that it can finally find its gaze, its place, and its audience.
