La obra se construye como un bloque central de gestos superpuestos en una gama casi monocroma, donde grises, negros y velos pardos se apilan en grandes “placas” de arrastre. La composición se sostiene por fricción de direcciones: diagonales amplias que empujan hacia arriba y a la derecha, cortes más verticales que reafirman el peso, y pequeñas interrupciones blancas que actúan como respiraciones internas. A distancia funciona por masa y contraste contra el fondo claro; cerca, se intuyen reescrituras y raspados, bordes desgastados y zonas donde el pigmento se abre en transparencias, dejando una topografía de capas más que una imagen plana.

Form and force create an echo (I)

The work is constructed as a central block of overlapping gestures in an almost monochrome range, where grays, blacks, and brown veils are stacked in large “plates” of drag. The composition is held together by friction between directions: broad diagonals pushing upward and to the right, more vertical cuts that reinforce the weight, and small white interruptions that act as internal breaths. From a distance, it works by mass and contrast against the light background; up close, one senses rewritings and scrapings, worn edges, and areas where the pigment opens up into transparencies, leaving a topography of layers rather than a flat image.

تتكون العمل من كتلة مركزية من الإيماءات المتراكبة في نطاق لوني شبه أحادي، حيث تتراكم درجات الرمادي والأسود والبني الداكن في ”لوحات“ كبيرة متداخلة. تتماسك التركيبة بفضل تباين الاتجاهات: خطوط قطرية عريضة تدفع إلى الأعلى وإلى اليمين، وقطع أكثر عمودية تعزز الثقل، وفترات توقف صغيرة بيضاء تعمل كأنفاس داخلية. من بعيد، يعمل العمل بالكتلة والتباين مع الخلفية الفاتحة؛ ومن قريب، يمكن استشعار إعادة الكتابة والكشط، والحواف البالية والمناطق التي ينفتح فيها الصبغ في شفافية، تاركًا تضاريسًا من الطبقات أكثر من صورة مسطحة.
