En esta pieza la energía se concentra en un “núcleo” central que funciona como campo de batalla: capas de grises lechosos y negros abiertos por raspados, veladuras y derrames que dejan asomar púrpuras y rojos como pulsos, con acentos ocres que cosen el plano y evitan que todo se disuelva en bruma. La verticalidad del formato se aprovecha bien: el ojo entra por la franja superior más turbulenta, desciende por un entramado de grietas y manchas, y vuelve a subir por líneas tensas que aparecen y desaparecen, como si el cuadro respirara por compresión y descarga.

Lo mejor está en la materia: hay profundidad real por estratos, zonas donde la tinta se incrusta y otras donde el esmalte queda casi mineral, con bordes sucios pero convincentes. También hay una buena alternancia entre masas densas y periferias más aireadas, que sostienen la sensación de avance sin necesidad de un “centro” único demasiado literal.

In this piece, the energy is concentrated in a central “core” that functions as a battlefield: layers of milky grays and blacks opened up by scrapings, glazes, and spills that reveal purples and reds like pulses, with ochre accents that stitch the plane together and prevent everything from dissolving into mist. The verticality of the format is well exploited: the eye enters through the more turbulent upper strip, descends through a network of cracks and stains, and rises again through tense lines that appear and disappear, as if the painting were breathing through compression and release.

The best part is in the material: there is real depth in the layers, areas where the ink is embedded and others where the enamel is almost mineral, with dirty but convincing edges. There is also a good alternation between dense masses and more airy peripheries, which sustain the feeling of advancement without the need for a single, overly literal “center.”
